A Winton Extension

As plastering contractors we do a wide range of jobs. This week we have been helping to finish off a new extension in Winton.

The instructions from Building Control asked for a vapour barrier over the OSB (oriented strand board or Sterling Board) to make sure that moisture and damp were not going to effect the building over time. We were called in to fit the vapour barrier and then tack 12.5mm (half inch) British Gypsum plasterboard on the walls, ceiling and around the feature skylight. All of this was done in accordance with British Standards using drywall screws ready for plastering.

The last part of the job was to plaster the room to a beautifully smooth finish and clear up behind ourselves.

Another happy customer for The Dream Team!

Artex cover-up in Bear Cross

Here at Dream Team Plastering we pride ourselves on cleanliness as you can see from this small domestic job in the Bear Cross area.

We emptied the room in order to cover the floor with heavy dust sheets. Then we used plastic sheets to completely cover the curtains, cupboards and sofas.

All of this preparation work is needed before any plastering as looking after our customers belongings is of real importance to us and to them.

Once we are happy with this preparation we apply PVA to the ceiling and wait for it to become tacky before machine mixing multi-finish plaster in buckets which is then applied to the ceiling as the first of two coats.

We make sure that the first coat is ready before applying the second coat and we take our time to get the finish to be as smooth and even as it can be.

The final steps are always tidying up and making sure that the customer is happy with what we’ve done.
